Considered one of Brazil’s most beautiful treks, Vale do Pati attracts travelers seeking deep immersion in the wild landscapes of the Chapada Diamantina. Remote, breathtaking, and filled with a unique energy, it’s often named by local guides as their favorite place in the entire region.

Hiking routes usually last 3 to 5 days, covering 15 to 25 km per day, through steep ascents and descents. There are no roads here, access is only by foot, or with the help of pack animals used by local residents.

A few families living in the valley open their homes to visitors. Accommodation is simple but welcoming, with comfortable beds and hearty homemade meals. There’s no hot water, and electricity is limited, often powered by solar panels. But the experience, the human connection, and the landscape make it all worthwhile.
